Gudauri has not published its 2026-27 dates or prices yet — plan on last season's list

As of early October the resort had not announced its 2026-27 opening date or pass prices, and a guide that checked on 4 October expects the announcement around mid-December. Last season the lifts ran from 27 December to 19 April, and an adult day pass was 70 GEL, six days 340 GEL, and an all-Georgian-resorts season pass 650 GEL. Budget on those and expect them to move.

What is known and what is not

The season dates and the new price list for 2026-27 were still unpublished when a guide checked the resort's information at the start of October, and the expectation is that both land around the middle of December. That is late by Alpine standards and normal here. Last season gives the working assumption: lifts open on 27 December and running until 19 April. If you are booking flights or a chalet now, the risk you are carrying is a late opening, not a cancelled season — and the practical hedge is a refundable booking for anything in the second half of December.

Last season's prices, as a budget

On the 2025-26 list an adult day pass was 70 GEL and a child pass 35 GEL, six days came to 340 GEL, night skiing on the Pirveli slope was 30 GEL, and a season pass covering all four Georgian resorts was 650 GEL. Every pass also needs a Multicard, 5 GEL, refunded when you hand it back. Those figures are a planning baseline, not a quote, and nobody should assume they survive into the new season unchanged. Check the resort's own price page before you pay for anything that bundles a pass into a package.

The mountain itself

The resort counts 17 lifts, and independent measurement puts the marked terrain at 34.8 km: 4.6 km easy, 19.4 km intermediate and 10.8 km difficult. The village sits at about 2,200 m, the top lift at 3,279 m and the lowest at 1,993 m, giving a vertical drop of 1,283 m. That shape — a large intermediate middle and a modest beginner area — is the honest summary of who Gudauri suits. Wind closes the top lifts often enough to plan around, and flat light in cloud is the most common complaint rather than a lack of snow.

Getting there, and when to go

Gudauri is 122 km north of Tbilisi on the Georgian Military Highway, about two hours in clear conditions. A marshrutka from Didube is 15 GEL and takes roughly two and a half hours, with thinner winter timetables; a fixed-price car starts around 196 GEL. Winter tyres are required on the mountain sections and chains can be too, and the stretch from Gudauri up to Kobi closes when avalanche risk is high, sometimes for days. For quieter, colder, more reliable snow, the window from about 20 January to early March is the one locals point to; the fortnight around New Year is the most crowded and most expensive, late March fills with school holidays, and April is quiet with spring snow until the lifts stop.
