Astana, Cairo, Cologne, Copenhagen: the routes added this summer say who the next wave of guests is

Reported in early May, the summer schedule brought FlyArystan on Astana–Batumi three times a week from 2 June; Air Cairo weekly from Cairo to Batumi from late June; Norwegian Air Sweden twice weekly Tbilisi–Copenhagen from 27 June; Eurowings twice weekly Tbilisi–Cologne from 2 July; Condor daily Frankfurt–Tbilisi from 15 June; and Wizz Air Malta three times a week Venice–Kutaisi from mid-May. Two of the six land at Batumi rather than the capital.

A daily wide-market leisure service from Frankfurt plus a second German city from Cologne is a different kind of commitment from a weekly summer route. Daily frequency is what lets a tour operator build a package and a family plan a week without a risky connection, and it is the frequency that airlines cut first when a route disappoints. If you are deciding which language your listing copy and your welcome book should exist in after English and Russian, German has just made its own argument.

Astana and Cairo both fly to Batumi rather than through Tbilisi. That is the more interesting structural point in the list: it treats the coast as a destination in its own right rather than an onward leg, and it brings summer demand from two markets whose season is the same as Batumi's. For an owner on the coast it means the guest mix may shift year to year in ways that Tbilisi arrivals data will not show you.

A route announcement is capacity, not passengers. Some of these will be renewed next summer and some will quietly not be, and the only honest way to tell is to look again in spring when schedules are loaded. What the list does reliably tell you is where airlines thought the money was in 2026 — which is a better guide to marketing spend than a hunch, and a poor guide to buying a flat.
