Dashbashi Canyon: spectacular, and the entrance fee is the main complaint

On Tripadvisor the canyon holds 4.1 out of 5 across 39 reviews and ranks second among things to do in Dashbashi. The praise is consistent and about the setting rather than the facilities: clean air, waterfalls, and the walk out onto the suspended glass bridge with the gorge underneath. Several reviewers single out the view along the gorge as the reason to come at all.

Price dominates the negative reviews. The entrance fee, reported in the range of 49 to 79 GEL, is repeatedly described as out of proportion to local prices, and extras such as the shuttle and refreshments add to it. Other recurring grumbles are smeared glass panels on the bridge, thin information at the visitor centre and limited facilities on site. None of that stops most reviewers recommending the trip; it does shape what they feel they got for the money.

Reviewers describe a trail of about 1.8 km plus stairs down to the base of the waterfall, and most spend two to four hours on site after a drive of roughly two hours each way from Tbilisi. Early arrival is the usual advice for getting to the falls ahead of the crowd, summer is preferred to winter, and more than one visitor warns that it gets cold once the sun drops. For a tour operator, the honest framing is a half-day with real walking in it, not a photo stop.
