Three countries supplied 83% of Georgia's foreign investment last quarter — and the largest was China

Foreign direct investment into Georgia came to USD 468.8 million in the second quarter of 2026. China was the single largest source at USD 219.5 million, or 46.8 per cent of the total. The United Kingdom followed with USD 123.5 million, 26.3 per cent, and the United Arab Emirates with USD 47.7 million, 10.2 per cent. Between them those three accounted for 83.3 per cent of everything that came in.

By sector, financial and insurance activities took the largest share at USD 207.6 million, 44.3 per cent. Real estate came second at USD 119.9 million, 25.6 per cent, and manufacturing third at USD 59 million, 12.6 per cent. For property owners the second line is the one to watch over time: a quarter of the national inflow landing in real estate is a reminder that foreign money is a visible part of this market, without being the whole of it.

A quarterly total that leans this heavily on three origins is a volatile total. One large transaction completing or slipping into the next quarter moves the national figure by tens of millions, which is worth remembering the next time a headline reports a dramatic rise or fall in Georgian FDI.
